Announcements (week of February 5, 2012) -- Our Church
  • Rev. Kaiser will be at the church on Monday and Wednesday this week.  He can always can be reached by phone, 293-3194, or email: rkaiser3@rochester.rr.com.  Please don’t hesitate to be in touch.
  • “What does it mean to be called by God” was the subject of last Sunday’s sermon. Copies are available on the office bulletin board, which is located in the hall across from the coat rack.  
  • The Deacons are in need of volunteers for shoveling and salting on Sunday mornings.  If you would be willing to assist them, please contact Angela Hall at 747-8779.
  • Get a head start on your Spring Cleaning...we can accept Garage Sale items for the Spring sale at any time during the year.  Dress down Sunday is April 15th immediately following the worship service.  The sale will be open to the public April 26th-28th.
  • Flowers are needed for Sunday, February 19th.  Please contact Pat Myers @ 544-4424 to place your order.
  • Adult Forum for February 12th: information and planning for the Bible Study, “Bad Girls of the Bible.”
  • The sermon for Sunday, Feb. 12th is “Love Is A Many Splendid Thing”.  Please read I Corinthians 13. 
  • Mark your calendars! The Healing Team will host a Lenten series on Monday evenings in Fellowship Hall from 7-8:30 p.m. on March 5th, 12th and April 2nd.  Further information to follow.  
  • Today is SOUPER BOWL MISSION SUNDAY. The Youth Group will be accepting donations prior to worship.  Following worship, they will count the money collected and volunteer their time at ICC from 1:00-2:00 p.m.  Which team will win...Junior or Senior High?

  • Cameron Community Ministries is very low on children’s clothing.  They especially need little boy clothing and boots.  Drop off any donations in the church office.
  • The holidays have passed, but the need for food assistance has not.  Irondequoit Community Cupboard would appreciate any of the following donations: chicken noodle soup, chunky soups, cereal, small jars of jelly, canned fruit, canned stew, hash or chili, canned tuna and chicken, canned beans (especially black and kidney), healthy snacks for kids lunches and toothpaste.

  • The Book of Jonah is a cry for universal compassion that speaks to us at a time when people seem to be having a hard time getting along at many levels of life.  Copies of last week’s sermon on Jonah are available on the office bulletin board, which is located in the hall across from the coat rack.  Next week’s sermon is entitled “Let’s Have Our Own Super Party.”  Read John 2: 1-11.   
  • Be sure to pick up your copy of the  2012 Membership directory during coffee fellowship.  Please one copy per family. Thank you. 
  • Helen Jeffers has year end pledge statements ready just in time to do your taxes!  She will be in the foyer during coffee fellowship and in Fellowship Hall during the annual meeting.  Please be sure to pick up your statement.

      review the 2011 budget. Please be there to support your ministry.
    • The Presbytery healing team will present a report to Session tomorrow during an
      executive Session between 7:00 and 7:45 p.m. The meeting will be open after that.

      honorably retired from Genesee Valley Presbytery, is active in church work and is also an
      artist. For over 25 years, he directed the Mediation Center of Rochester.

    • Join us for a casual service on New Year’s Day @ 9:55 a.m.
    • The spirit of this holy season continues into the New Year. On New Year’s Day,
      we will remember the coming of the wise men. The sermon is entitled: “Wise
      People Still Seek Him” and is based on Matthew 2. The Sacrament of
      Communion will be offered on Sunday, January 8th.
    • Pre-school and crib care will not be available on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2012.
    • The office will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26th, Friday, Dec. 30th and Monday, January 2nd.

    •  Session has extended Rev. Kaiser’s contract , which was to end January 31st,
      until April 30th or until the arrival of the full time interim pastor.
    • Youth News: Ice Skating: Sunday, Jan 8th after Adult Forum, lunch at Summerville
      and leave for Manhattan Square Park at 1:00 p.m. Open skate from 1:50-3:20 p.m.,
      please let Mrs. Carter know by January 4th if you plan to attend.
    • Youth News: Movie Madness: January 15, 2012 at Regal Cinema at Greece Ridge Center
      from 11:30 p.m.—7:30 a.m. Meet at Summerville at 11:00 p.m. Cost is $15.
      Checks can be made payable to Summerville Youth Group. Registration forms are
      available on the main office credenza. Registration deadline is Wed. Jan 4th.
    • Youth News: Service lunch at Cameron Community Ministries: Saturday, January 28.
      Meet at Summerville at 8:30 a.m.. Arrive at CCM at 9:00 a.m. and leave after lunch
      clean-up around 1 p.m.. Please let Mrs. Carter know by January 25th if you plan to
      attend.
